WERKBESCHREIBUNG: 
Das Universum ist bekanntlich groß. Verdammt groß. Und dank Einsteins Relativitätstheorie ist die absolute Geschwindigkeitsobergrenze die Lichtgeschwindigkeit. Und die ist, wenn man mal ehrlich ist, ziemlich lahm – über vier Jahre bis zum nächsten Stern. Wie soll man denn da Außerirdischen begegnen? Die Galaxis erobern? Wir benötigen also einen Hyperantrieb (HYPERDRIVE)! Er ermöglicht es einem Raumschiff, interstellare und sogar intergalaktische Entfernungen in annehmbaren Zeiträumen zu überwinden. Auf diese Weise können viele Lichtjahre in Tagen oder sogar in Stunden zurückgelegt werden. Somit stellt der Hyperantrieb eine Möglichkeit dar, Reisen zu anderen Planeten oder Galaxien zu unternehmen, ohne dass man dabei den Einschränkungen der speziellen Relativitätstheorie unterworfen ist. „Hyperdrive“ wurde mit dem 3. Platz beim „Cory Band Composers Prize 2019“ ausgezeichnet. Die Uraufführung war am 30. Juni 2019, gespielt von der Cory Band unter der Leitung von Philip Harper.

PROGRAM NOTES:
The universe is known to be large. Damn large. And thanks to Einstein's Theory of Relativity, the absolute speed limit is the speed of light. And that's, if you're honest, pretty lame - over four years to the next star. How should one meet extraterrestrials there? Conquer the galaxy? So we need a HYPERDRIVE! It allows a spaceship to handle interstellar and even intergalactic distances in acceptable time periods. In this way, many light-years can be covered in days or even hours. Therefore, hyperdrive is a way to travel to other planets or galaxies without being subject to the constraints of special relativity. Get in, there is a lot to discover!
